If you still have questions, our team will be happy to help when you arrive or by phone.

Are there daily redemption limits in California?

Yes. California has daily load limits by weight for CRV beverage containers. Current limits include 100 pounds of aluminum, 100 pounds of plastic, 1,000 pounds of glass, 50 pounds of bag-in-box, and 25 pounds each of multilayer pouches and paperboard cartons.

What types of containers qualify for CRV redemption?

We redeem eligible California beverage containers that carry a CRV deposit. This includes many aluminum cans, plastic bottles, and glass beverage bottles.

Do you pay cash for CRV containers?

Yes. We pay cash on site for eligible California CRV beverage containers according to state regulations.

Do bottles need labels to be accepted?

Yes. The CRV marking must still be visible so the container can be identified as part of the California redemption program.

Can I crush my cans or bottles before bringing them in?

Yes. Containers can be crushed as long as the CRV label is still visible. Containers that appear excessively compacted, bundled, or altered in a way that makes CRV difficult to identify may not be accepted.

Do you buy scrap metal, batteries, or e-waste?

No. Guido's Recycling focuses on CRV beverage containers only. We do not buy scrap metal, cardboard, batteries, electronics, or general recycling loads.

Do you accept containers from outside California?

No. CRV refunds apply only to beverage containers sold in California with a CRV deposit.

Do I need to sort my containers before bringing them in?

Sorting is not always required before you arrive, but customers who bring containers already separated are usually helped faster. Service is based on who is ready first, not simply who arrived first.

What does "CRV-only" mean?

Guido's Recycling redeems California Redemption Value beverage containers only. We pay refunds only for eligible beverage containers sold in California with a CRV deposit.

Can I bring mixed loads of cans, plastic, and glass?

Yes. You can bring mixed CRV beverage containers, but loads that are already sorted are usually processed faster.

How can I tell if a container has CRV?

Look for labels such as CA CRV, California Redemption Value, or CA Cash Refund printed on the container.

What containers do not qualify for CRV refunds?

Containers that usually do not qualify include milk containers, infant formula containers, medical food containers, non-beverage containers, containers without a CRV label, and containers purchased outside California.

What happens if a container does not have a CRV label?

Containers without a CRV label usually do not qualify for redemption refunds.

How much does CRV pay for bottles and cans?

CRV refund values are set by the California beverage container program. Prices usually change on January 1 and July 1, so check our Prices page for current rates before you visit.

Do I get paid by weight or by count?

Most CRV loads are paid by weight, but smaller quantities may sometimes be counted depending on the container type and the load.

Can I redeem containers without a receipt?

Yes. You do not need a receipt to redeem eligible CRV containers.

Can businesses bring CRV containers for redemption?

Yes. Businesses can redeem eligible CRV beverage containers as long as they follow California redemption rules and limits.

Do you accept large loads of bottles and cans?

Yes, but California CRV redemption limits may apply depending on the material and total weight.

Do I need to remove bottle caps?

Bottle caps do not usually need to be removed, but containers should be empty before redemption.

Do containers need to be clean?

Containers do not need to be perfectly clean, but they should be empty and reasonably free of liquid.

What should I do before bringing containers to the recycling center?

Make sure your containers are empty, keep the CRV label visible, and sort them ahead of time if possible to help speed up service.
